Applebees Recipe – Blondie Brownie!

By far the most requested Applebee’s Recipe in my household, the Blondie Brownie is one of my favorite Applebee’s Recipes to make.

If you can read through this entire article without drooling, I will be totally shocked!

This recipe includes some pretty basic ingredients which come together to make one of the most beautiful desserts available from a major restaurant chain.

(While this is what is known as a “copycat” Applebees Recipe, it is about as spot-on as it gets. I know my Applebees Recipes, and believe me, you won’t be able to tell the difference between theirs and yours!)

Here Are Your Applebee’s Blondie Ingredients:
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 pinch baking soda 1 pinch salt 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1/3 cup melted unsalted real butter 1 1/3 cup packed brown sugar – divided (1 cup and 1/3 cup) 1 egg, beaten 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract 1/2 cup vanilla baking chips 1/4 cup unmelted, unsalted real butter 1/4 cup maple syrup 8 oz. cream cheese, softened 1/2 tsp. maple extract

This Applebees Recipe favorite will also require vanilla ice cream to be complete.

So… Would I be correct in assuming that you’re a little curious about what to do with all this stuff? Yeah, I thought so.

Here’s How To Make Your Applebee’s Blondies:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir in nuts and set aside. With an electric mixer, beat together melted butter and 1 cup brown sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla extract. Slowly beat dry mixture into wet mixture. Turn mixer off. Stir in vanilla baking chips by hand. Spread Applebee’s Blondie batter into a greased 9″ X 9″ X 2″ baking pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; set aside to cool. In a saucepan over low heat, melt remaining 1/4 cup butter and maple syrup. Stir in remaining 1/3 cup brown sugar into saucepan until it has dissolved (the sugar, not the pan!) Remove saucepan from heat and beat in cream cheese and maple extract until smooth. Return saucepan to low heat and simmer, stirring constantly, until desired consistency Cut warm Applebee’s Blondies into 4″ X 4″ squares, top with vanilla ice cream, and pour sauce over the top… YUM!

Some of the most simple dialogue, and there I was, a crying mass on my bed again. There is something so tragic and intriguing about Holly Golightly’s search to find her true self, even when she’s not really looking. I at first watched “Breakfast At Tiffany’s,” because the beautiful Audrey Hepburn was in it. What I came away with was an odd yet thoughtful respect for this strange movie involving this girl Holly Golightly.

Living out of boxes, with an assumed name, and a no name cat, what Holly Golightly really craves is what an apple dumpling has to offer. She needs a piece of home. Something she can go to that will ground her. Apple dumplings represent the comfort of home and an assurance of spirit that Holly so desperately needs to find within her heart.

That tender, sweet, and yielding apple in the center represents what Holly really wants to feel within. While Holly is essentially cold, what she needs to find is that part of her self that is very affectionate and caring, which she is in her own way. In order to embrace other people and to stay with them she needs to love and accept her self for who she is. At that point and only at that point will she truly embrace others as she has done for own spirit.

The dumpling in itself represents her outer coating. It’s what she’s used to protect her heart all along. As you can imagine, a dumpling is not much of a protection. It is soft and yielding, and ready to break at any moment.

Tender and sweet, the end product is a visionary masterpiece….oh, and the movie’s great too.

For a taste of your own individual bowl of sweetness, try this incredibly delicious recipe that is good for six:

“Holly Golightly’s Apple Dumplings”*

Ingredients: 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup whole-wheat flour, ½ cup milk plus a little extra, 2 and ½ cups water, 2 tsps baking powder, a little cinnamon-sugar, ½ and 1/8 cup sugar, ½ and 1/8 cup Splenda, 1 tsp salt, 6 small Granny Smith apples peeled and cored, ½ tsp ground cinnamon, ¾ cup shortening, and ¼ cup plus 6 tsps of butter.

1) Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees

2) In a small saucepan stir the water, sugar, Splenda, and cinnamon. Cook and stir over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Add the ¼ cup butter, stir until melted. Remove from heat.

3) In a mixing bowl stir together the flours, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender. Stir in the milk.

4) Divide the dough into six parts. On a floured surface roll each piece into a six inch square. Place an apple in the center of each. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and dot with the remaining butter. Bring corners of the pastries to the center. Brush the edges with milk and pinch the edges.

5) Place in a greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Then drizzle with the syrup. Bake for about 38 minutes.

6) Enjoy with a little whipped cream and enjoy all the comforts of being home.

Below are some great apple recipes you can prepare today:

1. Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

- 4 cup of Sliced Apples
- 1/3 cup All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup butter or melted margarine
- Salt as necessary

Directions:

- Put Sliced Apples in a baking pan and Sprinkle with lemon juice.
- Combine all dry ingredients with butter or melted margarine and mix with a fork until crumbly.
- Sprinkle all this over apples and bake at 350 degrees for at least 30 minutes.

2. Spicy Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

- 6 to 8 cooking apples
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 peel of one lemon
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Directions:

- Peel, quarter and core cooking apples.
- Cut apple quarters into thin slices and place it in a bowl.
- Blend nutmeg and cinnamon then sprinkle over apples.
- Sprinkle with lemon rind.
- Add lemon juice and toss to blend.
- Arrange slices in a large baking dish.
- Make a mixture of sugar, flour and butter in a mixing bowl then put over apples, smoothing it over.
- Place the dish in the oven.
- If dish is very full, put a pan under the dish to catch spills.
- Bake at 370° for 60 minutes, until browned and apples are tender.

3. Raisin Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

- 3 Apples
- 1/4 cup Raisins
- 1/4 cup Chopped nuts
- 1/8 cup Water
- 3/8 cup Brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/2 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 2 tablespoon Flour
- 2 tablespoon margarine
- 1/8 teaspoon Salt

Directions:

- Wash, pare, core and slice apples thinly.
- Mix with raisins.
- Place in a greased casserole.
- Add cinnamon, salt, lemon juice and water.
- Work sugar, flour and margarine (fat) together to form crumb like consistency.
- Spread over apple and raisin mixture.
- Bake in 380 degree oven for at least 30 minutes.

4. Chocolate Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

- 3 Apples, unpeeled if desired, chopped
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cup of uncooked Quick oats
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup Pecans or walnuts, chopped
- 3/4 cup Butter
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1 packet semi-sweet chocolate mini morsels, divided (12 oz)

Directions:

- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. In large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking soda and salt.
- With 2 knives or pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
- Stir in oats; press half of oat mixture into greased 13×9″ baking pan.
- To remaining oat mixture, add Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate mini morsels, apples and pecans; stir to combine.
- Sprinkle over base.
- Bake at least 35 minutes until lightly browned.
- Cool slightly; cut into squares.

I was recently at an Applebees restaurant and I got to wondering how they make all their food. Not just how long it takes them to cook a chicken breast or anything like that, but how they prepare the whole dish. It bothered me like a buzzing fly that won’t stop swarming around your head. I finally had to do something about it. I got on the internet and started doing a little research, and now I can make the food that tastes so great, and it even saves me money!

My favorite copycat Applebees recipe is hot artichoke spinach dip. It’s so easy it can make the worst of cooks look good.

The ingredients are:

1 (10 oz.) box frozen chopped spinach, thawed

1 (14 oz.) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped

1 cup shredded parmesan-romano cheese mix

½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

10 oz. prepared alfredo sauce

1 tsp. minced garlic

4 oz. softened cream cheese

Pepper (optional)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Combine ingredients thoroughly in a bowl and spread mixture into an 8″x8″ baking dish.

3. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cheeses are bubbling and melted.

4. Serve with chips or bread.

It led me to copycat recipes from Applebees and many more restaurants and now I can eat in, impress my family with my cooking skills, and save some cash! What started as a pesky thought with a visit to Applebees has become a way for me to get my family together for food we can all enjoy. I would highly recommend you do the same!

My Recipe For Main Street USA Apple Crumble Cake

Nothing is more American to America than apple pie, or in my eyes apple crumble cake. Biting into a piece is like biting into a piece of home. It tastes like a warm part of American heritage (if that is even possible). Disneyland…..nothing clings to my romantic image of how the turn of the century should have looked like, than this place. My crumble cake brought me back to the feeling of walking down the land of Main Street U.S.A.

It is the most overlooked land in all of Disneyland, but without it all the charm and glamour of the park would be partly gone. Far as the eye can see you see shops that not only serve necessity but delightful simplicity. That is only the outside of course, because what you get is beautiful merchandise. From the delight of the old-fashioned Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor to the ringing and brightly lit Penny Arcade, you know you are part of an innocence now found.

Sounds of laughter float up the street mixed with the jingle of the trolley as it comes down the street bearing many happy residents. I can hear the soft clip-clop of the horses’ horseshoes on the pavement along with the tinkling and grace of old time music. It makes the moment that much more magical.

The smell of vanilla and warm baked sweets greet you at the gate and tantalize your spirit. It relaxes and brings the comfort that only hearth, home, and family can bring us.

Sitting down at Carnation Plaza Café I taste everything that I could smell. Delicious hot soup with light and fresh sandwiches fills you up and makes you feel part of the magic. Finally I taste the apples inside a cake laced with cinnamon that makes it all that much more of a complete picture.

All that wonderment should be more than enough, but nothing compares to Main Street U.S.A in the night time. Have you ever known the night and never feared it? Well, here it is so. It is where families walk at night and not criminals. This is where lights accent the town and don’t try to disguise it. It is honesty and innocence in its stark clarity.

All of this baked into one dessert. All the memories of my turn of the century have been put into this dish. The warmth of the apple, strength of the cinnamon, and the surprise of the raisins make this a dessert to cherish and enjoy.

For some of your own Main Street charm, try this recipe:

“Main Street U.S.A. Apple Crumble Cake”*

Ingredients: 1 and ¾ cup sifted self-rising flour, 7 tbs butter softened, 1 gala apple cored, thinly sliced and tossed in lemon juice, ½ tsp and a pinch of cinnamon, 5 tbs sugar sifted, 5 tbs Splenda, 7 tbs butter softened, 1 egg beaten, 2 granny smith apples peeled and cored, and 1/3 cup raisins.

1) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 7 inch springform pan, line with wax paper and grease the paper.

2) Sift ¾ cup flour and ½ tsp ground cinnamon. Then rub 3 tbs butter into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs, stir in 2 tbs sugar and 2 tbs Splenda

3) Put 4 tbs butter, 3 tbs sugar, 3 tbs Splenda, egg, and 1 cup flour in a bowl. Beat for 1 minute. Spoon into the pan.

4) Mix together the granny smith apples and raisins. Spread them evenly. Sprinkle with the topping.

5) Bake for an hour. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Peel off the wax paper. Put the gala apple in the center and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.

6) Enjoy with the rich simplicity of old time America.

Cinnamon Apple Omelet

Cinnamon Apple Omelet

Ingredients:

5-teaspoons Butter

½-teaspoon Cinnamon

1-teaspoon Sugar

2-medium Apples, Seeded, Peeled & sliced

1-cup Bacon, crisp & crumbled

¼-cup Walnuts, chopped

3-tablespoons Apple syrup

6-large Eggs

½-teaspoon Salt

Instructions:

Melt 1 teaspoon of butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add cinnamon, sugar and apple; cook about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender. Stir in bacon. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook and stir about 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in walnuts and syrup.

In a medium bowl, mix eggs and salt until well blended. In a medium skillet melt 2 teaspoons of butter over medium heat. Pour half of egg mixture into skillet. Cook about 1 minute, lifting edges occasionally to allow uncooked egg to flow to bottom of skillet, until mixture begins to cook around edges. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover and cook about 5 minutes or until set. Spoon half of filling over half of omelet; fold other half of omelet over filling.

Cut omelet in half; slide each half onto serving plate. Repeat steps and make another omelet. Cut second omelet in half and add to serving plate.

Late Summer Apple Pie

This perfect dessert dish is incredible hot from the oven, warmed and topped with ice cream or whipped topping, or sliced cold and served with a glass of milk. This delicious apple pie starts with fresh, ripe, Braeburn apples combined with fresh lemon juice for bite, apple butter for smoothness, and a touch of honey and vanilla for added sweet. The filling is dropped into a crunchy whole wheat and oatmeal crust. Topped with a second crust and baked until the crust is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly. An excellent pie for the winter holidays, this is a great dessert to make year round. Late summer apple pie is ideal for brunch, picnics, late night snacks or as an elegant finish to a gourmet meal.

Cooks Notes: If you can’t locate Braeburn apples, use your favorite sweet, slightly tart apple variety.

Late Summer Apple Pie

Crust:
1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 cup Ground Oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt
2 teaspoons Apple Cider Vinegar
2 tablespoons Ice Cold Water
1/4 cup Olive Oil
1/4 cup Butter

Filling:
8 cups Braeburn Apples, peeled and thinly sliced
3 tablespoons Whole Wheat Flour
3 tablespoons Apple Butter
1 tablespoon Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
1/8 teaspoon Sea Salt
2 tablespoons Honey
1 Vanilla Bean, cut open lengthwise and seeds scraped out

Preparation:

1. Place all crust ingredients in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

2. Add flour, oatmeal and salt to medium bowl. Stir to combine.

3. Add apple cider vinegar and water to small bowl. Whisk to combine.

4. Cut olive oil and butter into flour mixture using pastry blender. Stop when mixture resembles small pea size balls of dough.

5. Drizzle vinegar and water mixture into dough. Toss dough with fork until the entire dough is evenly moist.

6. Form dough into two even size dough balls, 1 slightly larger than the other.

7. Press both dough balls into 6-inch disks. Wrap both in plastic wrap. Place in refrigerator 1 hour, up to overnight.

8. Remove dough from the refrigerator, unwrap, and place between two sheets of fresh plastic wrap. Roll the larger disk into a 12-inch circle.

9. Place the rolled dough into the pie plate, by removing top plastic wrap and inverting it into a glass pie plate.

10. Repeat rolling process for second dough disk. Place on flat surface and refrigerate for later use.

11. Preheat the oven to 450 F.

12. Add apple slices and flour to large mixing bowl. Toss to coat.

13. In separate bowl, add apple butter, fresh lemon juice, salt, honey and vanilla. Stir to combine and then add to apple mixture. Toss with apple mixture until apples are well coated.

14. Spoon the apples into the pie crust. Spread evenly and press down gently.

15. Remove top crust from refrigerator and place over pie filling. Trim seal and crimp edges.

16. Use a small sharp knife to cut several slits in the top of pie for steam to escape.

17. Bake 15 minutes.

18. Reduce temperature to 350 F.

19. Bake an additional 45 minutes until crust is golden brown and filling bubbly.

20. Allow cooling for 1 hour before slicing.

An incredible apple pie that is certain to please any crowd.

1. Firstly, we will need to sift the baking powder with the salt. Additionally, add some shortening as well and rub into the mix very lightly. The point to take note is to just put enough cold water to hold dough together.

3. Take half of the dough out on floured board to roll. Line the bottom of pie plate; fill in with the apples slices. Next sprinkle in some sugar and dot with small chunks of the butter.

4. Add flavor with nutmeg. Cinnamon can be a good alternative too. Next wet the edges of the crust with cold water;

5. Now, roll out the remainder of dough. Use the remainder to cover the pie. Point to take note is to press the edges of the dough tightly together.

6. If needed, trim off the extra edges. Prick top of crust with fork or knife.

7. Finally, bake the pie in a moderate oven. Do so for about half an hour.

When the pie is cooked, sprinkle the top with some powdered sugar.

Have you ever wanted to make the same delicious food that you enjoy at Applebees? There may be a way for you to save a lot of money by preparing the same delicious meal at home. Here are a few ways to try to copycat your favorite Applebee’s restaurant recipe:

1.) You may be able to obtain the recipe from the restaurant by visiting their website or by asking the waiter for a copy. Some chefs are flattered that someone would ask for their recipe. You may have already identified most of the ingredients in the recipe just by taste and appearance. If you just need to figure out a few unique ingredients, don’t be afraid to ask what they are.

2.) Reverse engineering is another method you could try to reproduce the restaurant’s recipe. Order the dish as carryout, take it home, and analyze it. You can make a game of trying to identify different ingredients in the dish by taste. Some people are really good at this, so invite your friends to help. Once you’ve identified the basic ingredients, experiment by trying different combinations of seasonings and cooking methods.

3.) Compare the taste of your experimental dish to the carryout food from the restaurant until you get it right.
The menu may even give you most of the ingredients in the item’s description. Write down the information on the menu and the answers you get from the waitress. Take a picture of your plate when the food is served and try to reproduce it at home.

Ingredients needed -

* 1 (14 ounce) can of artichoke hearts, drained and coarsely chopped

* 1 (10 ounce) box of frozen chopped spinach, pre-thawed

* 1 cup of shredded parmesan-romano cheese

* 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

* 4 ounces of pre-softened cream cheese

* 10 ounces of pre-made alfredo sauce

* 1 teaspoon of finely minced garlic

* pepper (optional ingredient)

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

2. Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl, mix well, and spread the mixture into a small baking dish

3. Bake for approx. 25-30 minutes or until all the cheese is melted

4. Serve with bread
